Locking
This section explains the working of two commands CLEAR-ITEM-LOCKS and SHOW-ITEM-LOCKS. These locking mechanisms allow you to view and clear locks from a specific file.
Clear Locks
The CLEAR-ITEM-LOCKS command clears a specific lock or all locks taken against a specific file. You should use this command with jBASE hashed files only. The command syntax is:
CLEAR-ITEM-LOCKS filename CLEAR-ITEM-LOCKS filename, itemname
- Only a user with root privileges can issue this command.
- This is a UNIX/LINUX only command.
- Refer to the SHOW-ITEM-LOCKS command.
- If JEDI_NOSHMEM is set (JEDI_NOSHMEM=1), then the CLEAR-ITEM-LOCKS will not function (?).
Show Locks
The SHOW-ITEM-LOCKS command displays details of locked items in jBASE-hashed files. The command syntax is:
SHOW-ITEM-LOCKS
- You can customise the output of SHOW-ITEM-LOCKS by calling the JBCUserCustomizeDisplay subroutine.
- You can explicitly clear a lock by using the CLEAR-ITEM-LOCKS command.
