Overview
This section provides you an overview, uses and prerequisites of TAFC Agent.
TAFC Agent is a server-side TAFC component, which accepts and processes the incoming requests. Communication takes place through TCP socket connections and by means of a well-defined protocol. jAgent is a socket server listening on a user-defined TCP port and has the capability to serve a wide range of client applications as long as they speak the same protocol.
This protocol is implemented by the following client-side jBASE components:
- jBASE jRemote Client API
- jBASE JDBC Driver 2.0+
- jBASE ODBC Driver
The prerequisites are:having knowledge on
- jBASE and concepts of Multivalue databases
- Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol
NOTE: In this user guide,
- The terms such as TAFC Agent , jBase Agent and jAgent have been used interchangeably to refer to the TAFC agent.
- The commands such as tafc_agent and jbase_agent are used interchangeably.
