Overview
With Relational Replication, the configured Temenos Transact application table and data are replicated in the Relational Replication Database in a relational structure.
The replication is close to real time with the Temenos Transact live database. The replicated data can be used for all reporting and enquiry purposes.
The required metadata is passed as XSD events from a Temenos Transact standard selection to a Data Framework tooling layer. The logic used by Standard Selection will trigger the creation of XSD events when there are changes to the Temenos Transact application definition.
Data Framework will parse the XSD events and load the Temenos Transact application field information into metadata tables using DML (INSERT) statements. These tables will be stored in a separate table schema in the reporting database.
For each XSD event, DDL statements will be generated to create or alter tables in the Relational Replication table schema. This process allows delisting of the Temenos Transact applications from Relational Replication, which generally cleans the tables and metadata.
The Relational Replication database provides near real-time data replication of Temenos Transact transaction data in a relational data storage format.
An Extract, Transform and Load process (ETL) replicates the data from source (Temenos Transact ) to target (Relational Replication). The extract process will retrieve the data from Temenos Transact and transfer it to the Relational Replication staging tables. The transform process will use the metadata information to enrich and transform the data event. The load process puts the data into relational tables.
Enquiries and reports can fetch data from the Relational Replication database.
In the Relational Replication database a purging application will clean up processed data events. This application uses the scheduled time of the configured timeline. It will clean up the data events of both source and target staging.
Relational Replication staging information is archived if necessary.
The removal of the processed data events improves the performance of the ETL process.
