Configuring Debit Collection Initiation
Debit Collection (DB) application allows the user to configure the following aspects of collection capture:
Parameter
This allows to configure payment system to which the user needs to send the payment request.
Product
Every collection request is assigned a ‘product’ attribute that determines the characteristics of the collection and manner in which the collection is processed. Some of the generic products available in DB are as follows:
- Domestic – Collection request processed using domestic clearing
- CEFT Payments – Common Electronic Funds Transfer (CEFT) instant payment used in Sri Lanka to initiate instant DD collection request
Debit Collection product is either selected by the user (during manual capture) or attached to the Debit Collection Order page to initiate the collection request. It allows users to set the characteristics for capturing, validating and processing collection request. The following are the important functionalities:

| Allowed currencies | List of currencies allowed to initiate the collection request. |
| Transaction limit | Maximum collection amount allowed to initiate the collection request. |
| Duplicate check | Duplicate check to validate the captured collection request. |
| Allowed future date | Indicates whether the collection request can be initiated using a future Requested Collection Date. NOTE: It only supports the value ‘No’. |
Version
The strength of DB lies in creating custom and user friendly pages (input and enquiries) using standard Temenos Transact capabilities with minimal time and changes. Banks can create these pages for collection and clearing types (according to the requirements of the bank).
